Martavious Thomas
Martavious Thomas’s journey to law began at Edwardsville High School, where he excelled in football. He then continued his academic and athletic pursuits at the University of Evansville in Indiana, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. His passion for law led him to Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he earned a Certificate in European Legal Studies and a Certificate in Sports Law.
Mr. Thomas worked in Chicago, Illinois, representing condominium and homeowners’ associations. He returned to Madison County in 2007 to work as a prosecutor in the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office. In 2009, he joined The Gori Law Firm and has since dedicated his career to helping those affected by exposure to asbestos. In July 2017, Mr. Thomas became a partner at the firm. As of June 2024, he is now a member of Holland Law Firm, serving as counsel to the Asbestos team. Growing up in a blue-collar family, Mr. Thomas developed a strong work ethic with core values and is dedicated to helping others.
He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and Madison County Bar Association.
